This small, precision made hydraulic damper has been developed to furnish moderate amounts of angular rate damping in mechanical systems where small size and weight, and also minimum friction are of primary importance. Damping is adjustable over a wide range by means of  a needle valve arrangement.  This damper can be furnished in both temperature compensated and non temperature compensated models.

An improved housing contains the basic D.E.B. damper mechanism to provide a more efficient mounting system.  Flange mounting provides direct torque transfer from fluid abutments to attachment fittings without loading the case or assembly screws. The result is more rigidity and strength for the same weight. This damper is temperature compensated and can be furnished with a fluid pressurizing spring if necessary.  Non temperature compensated versions are also available. Performance is similar to other basic 1025 models. Valve adjustment is located inside the rear dust cover.  Special modifications, such as 270 degree rotation are available to order.

This damper is similar in performance to the 1025 FM series damper except that they are designed and built to perform under the hard vacuum levels of space. This damper is also designed to perform per specification after exposure to temperature extremes of   -80 C to +100 C .  Nusil CV-7300 damping fluid is specially processed for use in the space environment (Collected Volatile Condensable Material, % (CVCM) is 0.01 and Total Mass Loss %(TML) is 0.50.  Seal greases are also of  a low outgassing type. Random and sine vibration testing as well as thermal/vacuum functional testing are available. These dampers are available in 270 degree rotation.

This flange mounted rotary damper was initially developed as a rate limiting device in an aircraft flight control system.  It is a compact, rugged unit suitable for many applications to absorb vibration or limit velocity.  Damping is variable over a wide range by means of an external adjusting screw.  This damper can be furnished in both temperature compensated and non temperature compensated models.  A visual indicator shows the amount of reserve fluid.  Units can be furnished with special valving to modify the shape of the damping curve.
