Space Grade Dampers

D.E.B. provides state of the art rotary dampers to satellite industries all over the world and have been part of hundreds of spaceflight missions. Our satellite dampers are used to control the rate of deployment of external mechanisms on the spacecraft, such as antennae, solar arrays, deployable aperture cover (DAC) subsystems, Scientific instruments, RF reflector thereby avoiding end-of-travel damage to the mechanisms. In order to support space programs, D.E.B. has developed equipment and procedures to alleviate the cost of performing the task itself. THE SPACE INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE IS SHIFTING TOWARDS HIGHER VOLUME PRODUCTION I.E. CONSTELLATIONS AND LUNAR PROJECTS. TO ACCOMMODATE THE CHANGING LANDSCAPE OF SPACE PRODUCTION D.E.B. DEVELOPED EQUIPMENT AND RESOURCES TO CATER HIGH VOLUME PRODUCTION. Additionally, We developed equipment and procedures designed to maximize accuracy of functional testing at the damper level such as:

  • Thermal-vacuum cycling (-125C to +125c)
  • Thermal-Vacuum functional testing (-40C to +120C)
  • Operational temperature testing (-40C to +125C)
  • Thermal-Vacuum fill procedure
  • Static/dynamic load testing under vacuum

ComMercial & Military Use DAMPERS

D.E.B. Manufacturing Inc. designs, manufactures, tests, and markets a wide range of rotary viscous dampers for helicopter and airplane flight controls. These dampers help prevent pilot-induced oscillations, which can adversely affect aircraft behavior, reduces the inertial forces of the cockpit control linkages to the primary control inputs. They are micro-miniature, temperature-compensated dampers that utilize fly-by-wire, side-stick, and nose wheel controllers.
